Add-on Warranties Download links that do not work(see All)

Featured Replies

Yesterday I saw a very intereting posting related to the subject of Add-on Warranties on shareware products. Unfortunately the discussion paid very little attention to the subject of this posting, concentrating more on the Warranties regarding Add-on that do not work as advertised, etc.In my case , and I am sure in the case of other simmers that continuosly visit the Avsim Forums, the subject of download links that do not work after having paid for the product , is something very annoying, bothersome and conductive to a waste of time and sometimes money.I am not going to mention the Company that is advertising the new product via download with faulty links, since I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, but be sure that I will divulge its name if they do not come up with the goodies.BTW this product was announced yesterday in the welcome page of AVSIM.My question is:Why would I have to pay in advance for something I am not sure I am going to get ?I think there are plenty of examples of good companies that let you download the product, but that you can only use it after you pay and register it ( this would be a second step), I could mention for Instance Flight1 with its famous wrapper, Simmarket.com,Aerosoft, etc.If an outfit is not big enough to guarantee a proper comercialization channel, they should avail themselves of others to sell them their products . And they do not have to be small companies. FSD is a medium size successful company and yet it uses Flight1 to sell their products, for instance.I would like to hear comments from fellow forum visitors about this very annoying proble.Edmundo Cardenas SVMI

I think it is all a scam just to get money from you. I mean really, if you purchased a downloaded product, no reason why you shouldn't be able to re download if necessary. I recently had a major HD crash. I was able to contact Flight1 and PMDG and down loaded my previous purchases with no hassle. I was also able to get my fsuipc key. Only thing I haven't been able to get is Active Sky (2004).

Hi crabster,Have you written us? I get all support mail and handle 99% of re-downloads and do not have any request from you. If you need an address please write to [email protected] I will need is your purchase information from SimMarket.com.And I do take care of these things a few times a day. I have been known to respond in as little as 10 minutes, if my e-mail is open at the time of request. To everyone else: Please be aware that 100% of users that can supply us with their purchase information get FREE, UNLIMITED, re-downloads of our products.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Thanks Jim! Email on it's way.

I've needed a download link from AS twice now (sorry Jim) and both times it was quick and painless. In fact, I think once was under 10 mins. However, I've also had nightmares. I contacted VMAX twice for a new link a few months back and still haven't heard anything.billg

>Thanks Jim! Email on it's way.Well just after I posted this I took a short flight in the Aeroworx B200 KWWD to KACY. I just checked my email and COOL!!! Jim sent me a new d/l link.Initially I thought I was screwed because when I went to where I bought AS2004, the fine print said I needed to buy a warranty to reactive the d/l link. I was a bit bummed but I should have just contacted HiFi directly from the get go. (for some reason I thought I did when I emailed pmdg, but I guess I didn't---must be going senile :) )I remember having issues with Wxre back in the day. Jim and Damian were always quick to answer questions and offer solutions. I have nothing but praise regarding HiFi's customer service. Thanks again Jim!
