Mouse Flicker on P3D 777

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

Usually I just read as I generally have no problems at all. Yes my frame rates might not be the highest nor do I have the latest and greatest spec but I find the experience enjoyable: to me,  thats all that matters.

Having flown on the FSX format, I decided to jump ship onto P3D, having owned it for a couple of weeks I bought, yesterday the 777-P3D version. I expected my frame rates to be lower than FSX but suddenly I am in single figures! I have applied tweaks and now have an acceptable 17- 19fps on the ground at UK2000 Manchester (Touch lower than FSX) which I am fine with.

However, this is my first problem with any PMDG product! I have a really bad mouse flicker problem. Any time I go near a dial (SPD and ALT) the hand icon appears and flickers/stutters so badly that a) the frame rates drops to 3 or 4 fps and b) its really difficult to set the speed or altitude with the mouse.

Moving it to another part of the screen or to a different monitor and the frame rates jumps back up. The same happens in flight, I have 30fps at 32000ft (ish, if I can set the right altitude) but soom as I want to select a diffeerent altitude I get the flicker again.

Cant find any info on this at all.

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Andy Clowes
