September 12, 200520 yr Is it possible to limit cloud layers within FS9 while using FE as can be done in ActiveSky?Thanks!
September 12, 200520 yr You would need the registered version of FSUIPC. I don't believe it can be done from FE itself.I limit my cloud layers in FSUIPC when not using ActiveSky.Scott :-)
September 12, 200520 yr Hi Scott-I've got the reg version of FSUIPC but I believe it limits layers to just one, I think.
September 12, 200520 yr Hello Rollypolly,FE is not a weather engine, it adds graphically superior quality cloud, water and sky textures. All fully customizable to your own liking. You can even create your own clouds and there is the randomizer to give you a different environment everytime you start-up the sim...So there is no use changing cloud layers for FE. With for instance WeathermakerPro 3 you CAN limit cloud layers, max is 5 and min is 3.Might I mention, that, FE2004, works best with WeathermakerPro 3, both developers of FE and WmPro3 are working closely with eachother to give you the best flight experience yet to be seen on a desktop sim.regards,Anthony
September 12, 200520 yr Thanks Anthony,Just a small but significant correction. FE does not work best with WMP3. It works equally well with any weather engine as FE is not specifically working with weather engines as such.So don't worry ASV works just fine with Flight Environment. Weather-Marker Pro is certainly a great weather engine and it's Anthony's favourite but that's more do do with the way the enine works not it's relationship with FE.Yes, we are working with WMP3 but we also supporting ASV with FE so please don't worry.Use what ever weather engine you like.
September 13, 200520 yr I went to the weathermaker site and it looks like you have to install something called .net framework. What is this and why is it required? Thanks,Mark
September 13, 200520 yr Are you running Windows XP? .NET is required to run most new software being written for Windows XP, 2000, NT..NET is a runtime environment similiar to JAVA's virtual machine that is required to run applications that were written using a .NET programming language like C#, VB.NET, C++.Net, ect.If you run Windows XP or 2000, just go to the Windows update site to get the latest .NET environment. You may already have it installed. If so, you don't need to install it again. There will come a day that all Windows applications will require the .NET runtime environment. My company has already made the switch and is developing all of it's Windows applications using .NET.Scott :-)
