help needed - scenery administration

Featured Replies

Hi,i need some urgent help. i did a second install of FS9 (clean, including the patch) for testing. now my original install (full of sceneries and aircrafts) says "you are not allowed to update (scenery) files, because you do not have administrator rights". be sure i do have ADMINISTRATOR rights, and the new clean install accepts everything.i did restarts, i changed rights up and down, nothing helped.anyone any idea ?thx in advanceSinzow

So you open Windows Explorer, try and copy-paste all your old folders into the new FS9 installation and it says you dont have administrator rights? If nothing works then you can boot into Safe Mode and then enter the Administrator Account and try from there. This account is not visible in the normal log-in screens. Its the default Admin account.

This error message is generated if you don't have write access to the folders FS users for whatever reason. Make sure the FS folder is not read-only.

-------------------------------------------------Make sure the FS folder is not read-only.-------------------------------------------------Ahh yes good point! Thats probably the solution...try that first before what I suggested!

thanks gentlemen !tdragger was right: the main folder was write protected, for whatever reason. i changed this, now everything is right again :-)thx !Sinzow
