2D Panel will not display

Featured Replies

The 2D panel will not display for any aircraft. I had this problem a month ago and solved it with a complete re-install, but now the problem is back. The VC panel is fine, and the 2D panel will display, for instance, when the ALT key is pressed, so the panel is there, just not displayed.Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've tried, again, everything I can think of to remedy this. Thanks,keith2W6

Try a different version of video drivers, I believe that is the cause.

Mike,Thanks. I got this suggestion last time this happened, but it's not the video drivers. (I checked and re-installed the drivers). If it was a driver problem, a complete re-install would not have fixed the problem. Also, everything else works/displays great.keith

No it isn't a matter of reinstalling the same drivers, it is a problem with the version of drives you are using probably. Try to download a slightly older version and install.

Okay, so I tried older (even much older) drivers, but that didn't work. I don't understand how the drivers could work for weeks, then suddenly go bad, and for something as specific as just the 2d panel. Again, when the alt key brings up the menu, the panel does appear. Also, when I did the complete re-install of FS9, everything worked again. If the drivers were bad, shouldn't that have been immediately apparent? It just seems that it should be something within FS9. I suppose I have to do another re-install of flight sim, but I sure wish I knew what was causing the failure.

Here's another clue: the 2D panel appears, and works fine, in windowed mode, but not in full screen mode. keith

Ah, a solution! This may work for many other problems. Use the start menuprogramsmicrosoft gamesflight simtroubleshootingreset defaults command. I saved my fs9.cfg file first, then reloaded it after the reset default command, and it's back to normal.keith
