October 24, 200520 yr Congradulations to Captain Sim for Getting the C-130 Flight Dynamics almost perfect.I have spent 3400 hours in the Engineers seat of the actual "H" model version of the C-130 in which I was responsible for Charting Takeoff and landing Data plus participated in my share of Aircrew Standardization checks and Test Flights. I have flow the Captain Sim C-130 several days now with the focus on flight Proformance. The Aircraft has preformed to within 5 kts of charted Takeoff and Landing Data in the 115000 lb, 143000 lb, and 155000 lb Gross weight range. Also Preformed were Power off stalls at 135000 lb gross weight range with wings levels and flaps at 0 %, 50% and 100%. The Aircraft stall buffet began approx 20 kts below charted stall speed and the aircraft responded positively following actual stall recovery procedures. The Flight Control responses are almost exactly as I remember and unless you are in either in the Real Aircraft or Full motion Sim ( of which I have been in almost every year for recurrent aircrew training for the 15 yrs I was in C-130s) This Aircraft displays an excellent example of C-130 flight dynamics IAW actual aircraft proformance charts.Again, my only association with Captain Sim was providing pictures of the Actual C-130 "Steam Guages" and one Beta Test session participation. My system isP4 3.0 Ghz processor 1 meg DDR ramNvidia 256 PCI 6800 video card.force feedback 2 joystick Flight Tests were conducted at Sea level at 15 deg C with no weather loaded and calm winds.Again, Congradulations to the Capt Sim Flight Dynamics Team for a job well done.... Just my 2 cents worth.....fly safe all:-) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130894.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130895.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130896.jpg
