Left a message over at the carenado support forum, but looks like they are a little snowed under.

 

I get this error about 'Error opening file for writing' have tried admin rights, changing folder perms. anyone come across it?

 

Carenado support ticket comment. (Purchased the new PA44 seminole yesterday and went to install it on my win8.1 machine using P3dV3. After selecting the p3dv3 install directory i had a few error screens pop up saying 'Error opening file for writing' with a font directory first and then a heap of others. Any suggestions on how to rectify this?)

It happens to me the same, and after trying to give administrator permissions and the user, and not get it, it is best you press the Skip button, equal work.

This message shows when you have a program that is using the file, please make sure that you have all programs closed before installing.
