November 19, 200520 yr O.K. when choosing the heavy snows option, then getting on the runway in a 747, I get the altimeter set wrong message, and my airspeed indicator start at 12 instead of 0. When I do get in the air of course the air speed goes to 0. So it has to be the pitot's are frozen but I have the de-ice turned on. This does not happen using the winter wonderland option. Any suggestions, I know I must be doing something wrong.Andy
November 20, 200520 yr The different reading for your airpseed on the ground is due to the wind settings:Heavy Snow set the winds to 047 at 12 while Winter Wonderland sets the winds to 196 at 05. At least it did on my testing at KORD.Heavy Snow temp is 21, Winter Wonderland is 26.And Big Al is correct, you need pitot heat.Bud
