iFDG Airbus A320

Featured Replies

I need to solve an annoying problem i am having with my downloaded A320. i am using eric marcianos airbus panel in this aircraft and climb at 700ft/min. as i increase altitude the speed slowly drops off even though the gauges are showing 100%throttle. when i reach an altitude of approx 13,000 - 14,000 ft the speed has dropped off to 170 and then i go into a stall. is there anything i can do with the c.f.g or panel file to overcome this problem. it only happens with ifdg airbus and no other

try lowering the nose and see if that helps. william

mmmmmm....at 700FPM, huh? maybe you shouldn't need to lower it. i usually climb out about 1500FPM, generally speaking, to keep under 250 knots til 10,000ft. then lower the nose to increase speed. i know speed will drop as altitude increases. i'm sure you already know all this. just throwing in 2 cents worth in case you didn't.:-) william

Did you pull up the anchor?I'm sorry I couldn't resist. :-sae Mitch

What airspeed are you starting out at? You need to make sure you have enough speed to stay in the climb also. If you start out too slow you'll get bit by the fact that as you climb it takes more airspeed to keep the climb rate up.I am not a RW pilot, so take this with a grain of salt. I start my climb from take-off at 215kts and 1800fpm. Once I get through the 10000ft transition, I increase my airspeed to 230kts. Passing FL180, I'll switch from IAS to MACH and increase my mach number to .55 and lower my descent rate to 1500fpm. When I get to FL240-FL260, I'll increase mach number to .60 and 1200fpm and keep it there until I reach cruise altitude and then increase my mach number to whatever I want my cruise speed to be.I am using the default FDE for the Airbus, so I don't think that is your problem. Make sure you are clean as quickly as possible after you have positive climb. I am not using Eric's panel though. It's a custom job with RealityXP Jetline 4 gauges.Hope this helps.Jim
