Lago Tornado

Hello all, I am using the Tornado to refuel everything is fine but as i close up behind watching the countdown ie, 04/03/02/ the tanker will jump forward to anything like 07/08 etc and i have to start again , is there something i can do perhaps in the settings , i am using MS2004 and nearly bald !!!!.ps if you have the addon you will know what i am talking about. Thanks Roger.

I never could successfully dock up with that thing, but the last time I tried was almost a year ago . . . now my system is a lot better so I will try again and see what I come up with

If you "hit" the tanker it will bounce away from you. I learned a while ago that if you start losing position, cut the throttle and bunt the nose down sharply (i.e. stick forward, then back to level immediately). Yes, you'll end up low and slow, but at least the tanker won't have warped to three miles left or right of you!Provided I have an aircraft which can keep up, I have no problems getting into the refuel box at all these days... staying there, however, is a different matter! It's all a case of smooth flying, tiny control adjustments and focussing on flying your aircraft, not chasing the tanker. The one thing to remember is that the box is below and behind the fuselage - you don't have to make the probe touch the drogue, or the aircraft touch the boom on the KC-10. Just fly close formation below the tail of the aircraft and you'll get the "Passing Fuel" message. In the spirit of full disclosure, I was on the beta team for the Tornado, and it's my voice that you hear as the British tanker. That definately doesn't mean I have rose tinted specs about the pack's quality or capabilities though. ;-)Cheers,Ian P.

Hi guys, Ok Chris let us know how you get on will you, Thanks Ian for the help , i find its a great addon if somewhat frustrating at times , anyway they say practice makes perfect so i will keep at it ,and i will say this mate, its nice to hear a English voice on the sim or should that be a UK voice ,lol, all the best Regards Roger.

It's slightly more amusing when it's the same voice telling itself to "Never mind sir, line up and come back in again" and "Oh shut up you obnoxious person! I'm TRYING to line up again for Pete's sake!!!" though... :-hahStick with it. It can be done. One thing I did find is that I can tank Rick Sasala's EA-6B much better than I can the Tornado. Might be worth trying something a little less "touchy" until you get the hang of it? The default Lear would do, albeit a little unrealistically. ;-)Cheers,Ian P.
