Good ATR 42 non payware - is there such?

Featured Replies

Hey guys!Just found your pretty site here after scouting the entire internet (as good as) for a nice non-payware version of an ATR 42. I havent been able to find one yet, unfortunately :(Can anyone help me? Preferebly with a link aswell :)Thanks in advance/spintje

There was a new (updated?) 42-500 and 72-500 released last week, but as far as I can tell they're not available from AVSIM. You can find them from Flightsim.com's file library with these names:a425tcp2.zipa725tcp2.zipThey're not "perfect", but they're the best freeware ATRs I've come across. The 2D panel is nice and sharp and both have a VC albeit with limited functionality (most of the things you can click in the 2D panel are not clickable). The VC gauges could also be sharper and update faster, BUT I'm not complaining :) Just stating these things since you mentioned payware and might be expecting similar quality as, say, the Flight 1 ATR (which these are not). Also, I think one or the other had a non-existant repaint listed in its CFG file, so once you load FS2004 don't be surprised if you see a "dull grey" ATR repaint :)

Awesome man! That is just what i was looking for :)I was not expecting payware quality though, so this will suit me just perfect (i have a thing for turboprops)Thank alot!/spintje

Just a side question, you would'nt know where i could get extra liveries for this plane would you?/spintje

As it happens, the Air Caledonie releases are updated versions of older FS2002 / FS2004 ATRs by F. S
