Flightplanner Error--- please help

Hi,when I start FS9, have the screen where I can change the plane and select airport etc., I try to go into Flightplan. As soon as I hit that button, FS9 tells me "cannot open file" and shuts down FS9 and wants to send a error message to Microsoft.What do I have to repair in order to get that working?
