December 28, 200520 yr Hello, all. I have a strange issue and thus far have only noticed it in my Captain Sim C-130. However I am about to test this on some other turboprops as well. For some reason the engines die on touchdown. No crash or anything. just when my wheels touch the ground the engines kill themselves. This isn't happening on any of my jet aircraft, but is happening on my Herc.I am about to go test this on the PSS Dash 8 and if her engines stay on I will definately be boggled. Is there a setting somewhere I can adjust to fix this? FYI I have crash detection turned off, but all other realism maxed out. Had to turn crash off because AI likes to hug me during taxi :-P So I know that the herc isn't in a "crash" situation -- has to be something else somewhere.OH . . . and it isnt just when "flying" in for a landing. If I use slew mode, and come out of slew mode (while on the ground) the same thing happens -- her engines die. If I use slew in the air, she is just fine when coming out of slew mode.Any suggestions?
December 28, 200520 yr You can try clicking on the icon for the throttles in the panel. You may find like in the Kingair350, there are seperate throttles for engine Idle... which may be set to low. Usually, at least in the Kingair, it needs to be advanced at least 20% to keep them from stalling. Play with it, and you can find the spot where it will not stall, at the same time the brakes do no have to be on, to keep it from creeping.
December 28, 200520 yr Actually I just test flew various AC including my Aeroworx Super Kingair, Flight1 ATR and PSS Dash 8 and none have isues. I did ot yet try the default KingAir. I guess I can try that now, but I never had thi issue at all before.I use a throttle quadrant, so i am hoping that muckingabout with mouse clicks is not necessary when I should be flying the aircraft instead. If the ame issue happens on the Kingair, I'll consider it a calibration issue. If not, I am going to try a full reinstall of the C-130.
