December 28, 200520 yr How and where is the fs9 default aircraft set up and how do you change it to a different airchaft?TIAJim
December 28, 200520 yr Are you talking about changing aircraft from within FS9? You can select different aircraft by using the menu at the top of your screen. If you are flying using full screen, use the ALT key to show the menu and select AIRCRAFT/SELECT AIRCRAFT.If you are talking making permanent changes to your aircraft textures or types, however, the default aircraft in FS9 are in a folder called AIRCRAFT, Jim, inside the main FS installation on your hard drive. Within each individual aircraft folder therein, there is a file called AIRCRAFT.CFG. The settings for each aircraft are defined within this file.I shouldn't mess with it if you are unfamiliar with such things, though. Most third-party add-ons for FS9, both freeware and payware, come with installation instructions. Follow those and you should be able to achieve what you want, for the most part.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM

The one that starts you out in the Cessna 172 at Seattle? If that's what you wnat to do, then load up the default flight, shange to a different plane, then save the flight (press the ; key.) I always give this flight a new descriptive name because I do not want to overwrite the original default flight. You can also change other things before saving your new start up flight, such as leaving your plane in a parking spot with the engine shut down, if you wish. When you save your new flight you'll notice a check box which says that it will make your flight the default flight. Put a check mark there and it may work for you (it seems to be an intermittent bug in FS9). The next time you start FS9, if the origial default aircraft is still there, then you will need to edit the Fs9.cfg file to include the name of your new start up flight.I hope that this helps you out.
