March 8, 200620 yr I'm getting the following error message upon startup having just installed P.C.2006."Scenery.cfg file error invalid remote scenery path in scenery area 029.Click O.K. to continue"Has anyone any ideas as to how I might remove/resolve it?Warmest regards to all forum members.kevin
March 8, 200620 yr This is most likely the error I got also, the installer destroyed one entry in the Scenery.cfg. You can easily fix this.* Go to your FS9 folder and open the Scenery_b4_Project_Canarias_2006_backup.cfg file with Notepad.* Find the Area 29 and copy it. (this should actually be Phoenix Aerial Photo)* Now open the Scenery.cfg with a notepad, find the place where the area 29 should be, between the areas 28 and 30 of course and paste it there. It can be that you have there some lines that are leftovers from the previous entry."Area.029" <- The area is written in Square brackets, not quatation marks!!!Title=Phoenix Aerial PhotoLayer=29Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesPhoenixRemote=* Save the modified Scenery.cfg and all should be well.Tatu
March 8, 200620 yr Perfect fix Tatu.My pre PC2006 area 029 was different due to my use of a IFSD Ireland scenery but the fix is still valid.Thank you my friend.kevin
March 8, 200620 yr >Perfect fix Tatu.My pre PC2006 area 029 was different due to>my use of a IFSD Ireland scenery but the fix is still valid.>>Thank you my friend.>>kevin>>No problem.Tell me one thing... did the area name include the word "area"?I heard of problems with sceneries Area 51, Bay area bridges and what might yours be? My problem was the bridges... and I start to think that the installer is searhing for a word "area" and when it is found in a wrong place it creates problems... Why is it searching these for.. I don't know. Should be enough to add the Canary lines in the end and being able to remove them from there (not replacing the backed up scenery.cfg) when uninstalling the scenery. But good that it works and other people might be aware of "area-problems" in some areas... :-DTatu
March 8, 200620 yr Well, just as you had suggested there was the remnants of some lines in the post installation cfg. Can't remember them now but the new Area 029 entry from the b4 cfg reads like this:[Area.029]Title=IFSD EISG LandclassActive=TRUELayer=33Remote=Required=FALSELocal=c:ifsd_sceneryIFSDEISGLandclassDoes this shed any light on the prob???kevin
