Getting started causes error...

Featured Replies

Hey, I've installed FS2004 a couple of times, but it doesn't run properly. After the splash screen, the "getting started" screen appears. Then FS shuts down and an error message appears. I found this problem on the support page of MSFS. There I found a sollution to the problem... I modified the fs9.CFG so that the "getting started" screen wouldn't appear at start up. Now I can use FS2004, but I can't use (all) the options that are in the "getting started" screen. I'm not sure if they are somehow accesible in the game itself, but I would rather get the "getting started" screen to work. Thank you for any tips you can offer...Grtz, Marco(Ps, I also did check my directX version and other things... according to the MSFS support page, they were al okay...:-()

Hm... no replies yet... Did I post this message on the wrong time of the day or something? Anyway, I could really use some help... The flying lessons and all, I can't use them when the main menu crashes flightsimulator. Well, I can start the lessons manually, but at the end of a lesson, it wants to return to the main menu, and then fs shuts down again...

Welcome to the forums. You offer little information about the problem (system specs, OS, did you delete all FS files from your system and clean the registry between installs, etc.) but I'll give this a shot in the dark:http://blogs.msdn.com/tdragger/archive/200.../15/493252.aspxGood luck,Greg
