ATC Runway approach allocation

Featured Replies

Is it possible to alter how atc allocate the direction of landing on a runway? I would like to land from the east instead of the west.

I would like to land from the east>instead of the west.I don't fly with ATC in MSFS, but I would try setting the wind to favor the runway you want to land on, landing from the east means you want to land on a west runway, so set the wind at 270@20 and see if they give you a west runway.

Thanks for that, I just thought you may have been able to alter a setting somewhere.Cheers

FS9 ATC has been known to assign a runway that would mean landing with a 20kt tailwind. Most of the time you'll get a good assignment, but not always. And requesting a different runway so you land into the wind doesn't help much.Bob

Hi,If you are given a runway by ATC which you don't want and you want to change it, you will need to cancel your landing intentions first, then change the wind direction to favour the runway you want, then reapply to land and ATC might then give you the chosen runway.Andy.

after changing the wind direction, you want to also change the time, by at least a second forward, that will reload everything and the tower will then give you the proper runway to land on depending on the wind direction
