March 17, 200620 yr Greetings to all,Will someone please tell me how to get the Autopilot in the Boeing 717-200, 747-400 and the 777-300 to function as well as that in the Bombardier Learjet?

I am sure we have someone who is familiar enough with MSFS to answer this question.
March 20, 200620 yr I'm not sure I understand? The Big Stuff autopilots already operate as well as the default Lear - the functions are the same with the single exception that autoTHROTTLE is independent of the autoPILOT in the bigger aircraft and can be engaged or disengaged separately. Apart from that, everything is the same. Unless you aren't talking about default aircraft (there isn't a 717-200 included in MSFS by default). Could you expand on what you are trying to achieve, and what you are having trouble with? None of the autopilots are capable of a full autoland as standard, but there are a number of addons in the file library that can add that function too.Allcott
March 20, 200620 yr Thank you Allcott,With the Learjet, I can set speed and choose speedhold whereas in the others I cannot. Also the altitude hold in the Learjet autopilot is much more stable.Edit: Of course I realize that it requires a better altitude hold function in the larger aircraft than in the Learjet or any of the GA aircraft, but this is something that the MSFS Programmers should consider.
March 20, 200620 yr The default 737, 747 and 777 all have airspeed selection and hold. Not sure where you are looking? As Allcott stated you have to engage the autothrottle seperate in order for the autopilot to maintain those settings.Bud
March 21, 200620 yr If the altitude hold is not stable this is probably down to a controller setting - you probably need to calibrate the controllers (joystick, yoke and/or rudder pedals) properly.Allcott
March 21, 200620 yr Allcott and Bud,Thanks to both of you for enlightening me. The information will be a lot of help. Now if I can just find a way to make the Altitude hold feature a bit more stable.
