March 28, 200620 yr Hi, Defragment is all that comes to mind.I'm not a techie and when things start going funny I try that first.Andy.
March 28, 200620 yr AndyTks for the feedback but my system is "pretty tight" and defrag is not required.Joe
March 28, 200620 yr Joe,If the pauses are 20 seconds long, you might want to do a "Cntrl,Alt, Delete" and check to see if some other program is hogging your CPU. If that is the problem, it should be pretty easy to detect. Also, you can download FileMon from www.sysinternals.com . That may give you a clue to any file opening and closing problems that you might have.Wilson

March 29, 200620 yr Might not be the same thing, but for me after flying for a while in one session (aka without quitting FS9 and restarting it) I find that my system can stutter like that when doing various things (especially changing from cockpit to spot view) and will also cause a media player running seperately to stutter badly. In my case I suspect the sound card driver is the culprit. Restarting the ocmputer will cure it for a while."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
March 29, 200620 yr Pretty tight? What's that mean? And if DeFrag is not required, then it's the first system I've heard of, that doesn't require it.
March 29, 200620 yr I have an annoyingly long pause when I bring up the menu using the alt key. When I reinstalled FS9 it went away for the longest time but has now been back for a while. Might be some addon that interacts somehow with my computer? One of the mystery glitches....billg
