Sound on the fritz.

Featured Replies

Got a little problem. The sound on my system seems to be going #### up. The level keeps going up and down. It happens mainly with FS but occasionally happens with other stuff.I've reinstalled windows and FS but it still happens. I suspect the card is going but can anyone confirm this? The card is a Creative Soundblaster ZS.Thanks.Andy

W..t i. th.t, I c.nt .ear. 'ou?Sorry about that, I've always wanted to crack that joke. Seriously, I suggest you post this in the general hardware forum. If it's happening outside of MSFS, it's an issue which goes beyond MSFS and it sounds like you're in need of hardware help. Off the top of my head, I would use the "wav" or mp3 test. Boot your system, play a wav or mp3 several moments in length, and see if the issue happens. One other thought. Some years back one of our department heads asked me to look at a system they used for training. The sound kept cutting in and out. I found the problem was a bad CD drive--the output to the sound card was causing some type of random feedback. Replacing the drive solved the issue. Before you trash the sound card (if someone suggested that), I'd disconnect any connection from the CD or DVD to the sound card and see what happens.-John
