Where'd my hotkeys go?

I have a little problem. You know how on most a/c you can press shift+1, shift+2, shift+3, etc. for access to different elements of the 2d panel? Well, this function stopped working on my system for some reason. And it's a little tough to fly some planes without it, as I can't access the FMC (there's no button that brings it up either).There is something installed up on the FS menu that I don't recognize: vista something or other. Could it be that? This won't go away even when I restart my computer.
