May 1, 200620 yr Hello ShelleyOn my Windows XP system, after I click the "download" button on the web site, a Windows dialogue box opens asking:"Do you want to open or save this file?"Below the file information there are three buttons: "Open", "Save", and "Cancel"Push "Save"There is also a box asking: "Always ask before saving this type of file?" I put a check mark in the box so that I always know where the files are going.Next, a new dialogue box should open, headed "Save as"In this box, there should be one of the standard Windows filew structure trees. If you want to save the file to desktop, you usually have to use the "up" icon to navigate to the top of the tree -- desktop is always at the top of the tree, above all disks and files and above "my computer."When you get to the desktop, hit "save" and the download should begin. When the download finishes, you should find the file's icon on your desktop. Then, if you click on it using "WinZip," it should open (usually in another folder, which I think is called "C:unzipped" by default. Again, I think by default, the contents of the zip file, now contained in your "unzipped" folder, should open up when the unzip operation is complete. You have WinZip installed, right?By the way, instead of saving your downloaded zip files on your desktop, you can create a dedicated folder for them and navigate to is by way of the "Save as" dialogue box. My Windows system automatically offers to save each new downloaded file wherever I saved the last one.Hope it works out for you.Ed
May 1, 200620 yr Right click on the file link, left click save target as. A dialogue box will open where you select where to save the file to. Select desktop. I will give you and many others who read this a good tip. Don't use Microsoft Internet explorer, especially with broadband. It is full of security holes that hackers exploit to send you all kinds of malware and make your life miserable. Download and install the free Mozilla Firefox browser. So much better, more secure, and no more popups.Carlos
