May 1, 200620 yr it shows there's a center tank in the fuel/payload section but once in the aircraft there are only 2 fuel tank indicators instead of 3. still doing some experimenting but looks like it draws fuel from the center tank first but it doesn't show it looking at the indicators, i have to bring up the fuel/payload menu in order to see it. i was concerned about running out of fuel if the indicators show empty but the fuel/payload show some left. that was my theory but if the center tank uses fuel first then what's left would be showing in the 2 indicators. i know this is a long shot asking about default aircraft but thought i'd ask anyway, a how to...work the 3 tank 2 indicator thing. william
May 1, 200620 yr William,I'm running FS2002, but assume the same is true for FS2004. I fixed the problem by using a suggestion from Bryan Betts a few years back.Simply eliminate the center fuel tank. Edit the Fuel section of the aircraft.cfg. Place // at the start of the center tank line, then add that fuel to the right and left tanks. Here's how mine looks:[fuel]// Center1=0, 0, 0, 2313, 0 LeftMain=-1.7, -19, 0, 2656, 0 RightMain=-1.7, 19, 0, 2656, 0 // Xcg orig. -3.0, rev. 2/7/04fuel_type=2 number_of_tank_selectors=1 Note that the Xcg value for the Main tanks was also adjusted from -3.0 to -1.7. I don't remember if that was Bryan Betts' suggestion or my own.Let us know if this makes any sense to you.Regards,JerryH
May 1, 200620 yr Get the PS panels 737-400 panel, much better than the default and it's free. It has the guages for three fuel tanks like the real plane.
May 2, 200620 yr thanks for the replies. i think i'll just live with it for now. i have both PS panels which are really nice but as of lately i've been flying with the VC and those don't have them. i did notice that fuel in the center tank is there, it just doesn't show in the indicators. i have to pull up the fuel menu to see it or hit shift Z to get a %. thanks anyway guys. william
