May 2, 200620 yr Thanks for the question,The physical world you look at outside the aircraft on the ground is made up of the ground itself, mountains, rivers, roads, lakes and buildings and objects.Add-ons and enhancement programs such as GE (Ground Environment) and UT work to make this physical world look more realistic, more detailed and more involing to the user/player.UT does this by adding more realistically placed and/or more detailed; roads, rivers, lakes, cities, suburbs, rurals, crops, night lighting and does a few other nice things too.UT does one thing in particular that's very good for GE and that's by making the ground textures, which are bit maps or drawings of how the ground looks, LOOK MUCH MORE ACCURATELY POSTITIONED AND WITH MUCH MORE VARIETY.For example: we have all had those moments when we fly for ages and ages over a large landmass and find the same repeating look for hours on end. UT addresses that and adjusts the BGL scenery files to handle the placement of the ground textures. What GE does is make these ground look more realistic by re-creating thousands of textures to build up a more convincing and realistic feel to the ground which can look more photo real if you like.Unlike photoreal scenery, and not to be confused with it, photoreal scenery can affect the speed the game loads at.On the other hand GE or Ground Environment had no affect on frame rates or system performance. Just like Flight Environment, it's designed to make things look better without system cost on performance. So GE works really well with UT and both us developers, Anthony Vos and myself, who make Ground Environment also use UT.So yes, GE works brilliant with UT.
