SquawkBox and Vatsim PTT Push to talk button assignment

My Push to Talk on my sim Yoke won't assign in XSquawbox in X-plane 11 nor in Squawkbox in FSX/P3d. I simply returns a 0 number and leaves a permanently open mic. Any thought on how I can fix this? The key assignment works fine in either version.
