May 7, 200620 yr anyone know if the horizon goes out of view over the glare shield for commerical jet pilots and at what altitude might that be? like during cruise flight if at all. william
May 7, 200620 yr Hii only have experience in a piper arrow,i take it you mean when looking straight ahead.when climbing the glareshield would obscure the horizon, depending on you vertical speed.if you crane your head around, you can always find a bit of it.but would the horizon disappear at a certain altitude.well on a clear day,i would have thought in level flight you would be able to see the horizon for hundereds of miles, from inside a commercial airliner at say 38.000ft.without the glareshield getting in the way hope this is of some use to you steve
May 7, 200620 yr that's what i was wondering about, the glare shield getting in the way. i'll raise the seat a bit then. thanks steve. william
