January 30, 20188 yr Hi All, I purchased the RXP GNS 530 for FSX-SE last night and I am having problems getting it to appear in the “Add-on” menu option in FSX-SE. I think it maybe just an issues files were installed in the proper locations on my computer. In the RXP GNS 530 install setup wizard I selected FSX-SE and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX for where the FSX.exe file was located. The destination location was for the install was C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim. At completion of the install it said that a shortcut was created. But nothing showed up on my desktop. Was the shortcut suppose to be for the rxpfsxml.exe file in the destination location noted above? I tried starting FSX and loaded an aircraft (Alabeo PA23), but nothing showed up on the “Add-on” menu. (Note: FSX-SE was not running when I downloaded and installed initially). The orginal default Alabeo GNS530 was still there (and functioning) I tried restarting my computer with no luck - same result. I tried running the rxpfsxml.exe file with FSX-SE running (and not running) and get the following a message say "FltSim Config File Helper has stopped working - -problem cause the program to stop working correctly..." I did find a RSP530PA23.exe file in my Alabeo PA23 Aiplane SimObjects file. I ran it (with FSX-SE closed) and got message saying PA23 HD RXP530 FSX has been installed at the end of the install. But going back to FSX-SE I still don't have assess to the RXP GNS530, and now the default GNS530 in the Alabeo PA23 is blank and not working period. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Reanman
February 1, 20188 yr Author I got the problem figured out. Looks like the Alabeo RXP GNS530 install program was using an older name for the rxp GNS530 *.dll file when updating the panel file for the Alabeo PA23 plane file. I referenced the newer rxpGNS2.dll in the gauge folder in the panel file and the RXP GNS530 is working great now! Now to figure out how to get an updated database in the RXP GNS530. Something for another day....
