May 29, 200620 yr After having many failures on installing megascenery socal v1 that i recently purcahsed, i've decided to call it quits. now my problem is that there is a megascenery folder in my c drive that i cannot get rid off. it says, that access is denied and causes my computer to crash. i've tried the megascenery forums, but to no avail. i hope that someone here can help me. Thanks in advance
May 29, 200620 yr I hope you used the Add/Remove Software program in the Control Panel to remove your Megascenery folder. You can also uninstall by finding the file unins000.exe within the Megascenery socal folder and double-clicking it. You should never just delete the folder, especially if it's a commercial product and entries are added to your system registry. When installing MegaScenery, do you have Administrative rights to install software? Leaving your anti-virus program running while installing new products will cause problems in most cases too. Disable your anti-virus program, install, and then reenable your anti-virus software. After installation, check the scenery.cfg file in the main FS9 folder. Make sure it's not corrupted (areas/layers do not match; are not in numerical sequence); check to make sure Megascenery socal is listed. If not, the installation did not proceed correctly. Also, when uninstalling, make sure Megascenery socal entry has been removed from the scenery.cfg.Hope this helps.Ciao,JimYoung
