Aircraft "floating"

Featured Replies

Can someone help me please!I have installed an aircraft for fs9.The aircraft is fine, with one exception...when I load the aircraft, it appears to float about 5 feet off of the ground. As the simulation begins, the aircraft "falls" the 5 feet, the gear crumple, and "crash".The only way to fly it is to "Yaw" immeadiately and set my altitude high enough to begin flight...I have read through the forums and found that, I believe, the issue is in the "contact points" within the aircraft.cfg file. What do I change to lower the aircraft so the wheels begin on the ground! Thanks for the help!Clayton

To fix issues with contact points, check out "Contact Points 101 for Compleat Idiots"http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?loc=articles&page=cpBut I personaly don't think it's a contact point problem you are having. I've had this problem also. I've noticed it happens mainly when changing airports, reloading/changing/repositioning aircrafts and one other factor is with weights close to or over MTOW.Only wy around this for me was like you said, to "Yaw" the aircraft down to the ground as soon as it loads to prevent it from falling to the ground. It hasn't happened to me in a while, so i'm not sure if there are any new cures for this FS illness out there.

Have a great Day/Night where ever you are! :-wave
