Help!!-VASI and runway lights look like sno-cones(daytime only)

Featured Replies

After a fresh re-install of Windows XP and FS9, the VASI and runway lights look like red transparent tennis balls or sno-cones, but this is only during the day. At night, everything seems sharp and crisp.Any suggestions or help would be appreciatedThanksRoger Hollands

Anyone ???ThanksRoger Hollands

Roger,go into you're FS9 config file found in you're documents-application data-microsoft-FS9-.cfg, and paste this text in at the same point found about a third of the way down the list[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=240RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.7 //scales edge, center, end, touchdown, runways RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.8 // scales VASI lights)RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.7 // scales approach light bars RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.7 //scales RAILs and ODALs)I have showed the text [DISPLAY] etc as a reference only, you should ignore mine, as each set up is different, but the text you do want is the three lines starting with RUNWAY_LIGHTS, all three of them, just paste them in below you're texture bandwidth multi line, then close, and say YES to saving changes.now then, these additions will make the runway lights etc look better, but I highly recommend using a different HALO bitmap as well, just do a search under HALO in the file library, or use the one attached.but, back up you're FS9 config file first, AND you're original HALO bitmap too, this way nothing is lost, but I can assure you that you will not go back after making these changes.let me know how you go, and what you think of them,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/151326.zip

Steve:Thanks very much for your help. I will try these this evening.Roger
