June 25, 200619 yr Well, it still recognizes the flight/airline, but ATC calls the aircraft an Experimental aircraft when talking to other aircraft about traffic. Anyone have any ideas? My aircraft.cfg is set up the same as the other FFX 737's I have but this is the only one ATC does not recognize as a 737. I can't figure it out and my FSPassengers flights seem kind of annoying with this.Thanks,AndyP.S.- My first post in these forums!
June 25, 200619 yr You'll need to edit the aircraft.cfg file for this aircraft. Go to your Flight Simulator 9 folder (usually in "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9") then open the Aircraft folder and then open the folder for this aircraft. There you'll find a file called aircraft.cfg, open it with Notepad. Go to the section marked [General] and look for a line that starts with atc_type=, change this line so it reads atc_type=BOEING.Now look for the line that starts with atc_model= and change this line so it reads atc_type=B735.Now it should work fine.-Gary Letona
June 25, 200619 yr Thanks for the help Gary. I have been working with the aircraft.cfg's a lot since I got back into flight simming and I completely missed that part of the setup. Should work fine now since there was nothing there when I went to type it in. Thanks again,Andy
June 25, 200619 yr I'd recommend setting atc_type=NONE for all aircraft...The reason is that real ATC never calls anything "Boeing 737" or "Airbus A320," they just say "737" or "A320." Setting NONE tells it not to say the manufacturer.
