Missing cockpit........!

Featured Replies

I have just installed the Belgian Airforce Alphajet (alpha_baf) but the cockpit is missing, just as if I'd pressed W twice! Everything else seems to work & it flies. It looks OK from the outside........ummm, What now, Doc? I'm grateful for all or any help. Thanks,John

Hallo!Have you tried pressing SHIFT + 1Sometimes that will bring the cockpit back. If that and "W" does not work u need to see if your file structure is correct. Program FilesFS9AircraftAlphajet-panel <---check that this is named properly-sound-texture-model-.air-.cfgThen go into the panel folder and check that the background bitmap and panel.cfg is there. If none of this works then Im guessing the plane was provided without a panel and you will have to find your own - but Im not sure on that!Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Nevin. In the end I dabbled with files & put the panel from the Red Bull Alphajet in & after messing around for a bit, got the panel to show - don't know how I did it as I'm new to all this :-) It's a cold start job, but at least it responds to ctrl/E, unlike the Red Bull which doesn't. Now I'll try to fix that!ATB,Terry

Glad you got it sorted :)And *that* is one of the coolest things about FS9 - you can tweak, move, delete till its just the way you want it!

I put a post about starting the Red Bull Alphajet on Flightsim as the blurb was all in French & was there a quick work round to save me translation time (my French is VERY limited but I have Sherlock on my Mac) & a nitwit suggested learning French. Yes - there's always one!!However I've just had a message from a guy telling me how to start up.I have to click 2 red switches before pressing Ctrl/E :-)I think it's amazing that all this help is 'out there' & that people take time to help each other.Cheers,Terry.

Yes forums are cool and so are the people on them...although as you said you will get one or two penguins who think they are very clever!
