FIX for menu bar disappear bug

I was being plagued by the menu bar disappearing bug after I installed Walk and Follow from DBS. So, I made a few changes in my video card settings to tweak for performance and suddenly the problem was gone, but recently came back after some more tweaking. I realized one thing I had changed was "Fast writes." Turning OFF Fast writes in the video card settings cured me of this annoying problem.So, another question I have, is fast writes better off disabled in general??
