Maule M7-260 fuel selection problem

Featured Replies

Have recently downloaded the collection of Maule M7-260's, and the 1.1 update, and agree with comments about it being one of the best free addons for FS2004.But I have one problem, and it relates to selecting the main fuel tanks. The fuel panel (SHIFT + 5) allows L, R and Both, but the fuel is only used from the smaller Aux tanks. The main tanks stay full! How do you use the fuel in these larger tanks, as otherwise the range is rather limited? Thanks,Neil.

The fuel selector switch is actually Left and Right main tanks, of which each have a capacity of 21.5gals of fuel. Test: Go to the "Fuel and Payload" page in FS and empty the two aux tanks. Then back to the Maule, the aircraft still runs from the mains. Check the left and right aux tanks via the switches above the fuel gauges and see they are empty. Switch again for remaining fuel in the mains.Hope that helps.

Dogknot,Thanks for the help - I had not tried this one, having tried most other things I could think of. Even in a sim it goes against the grain to deliberately run a plane out of fuel when above inhospitable terrain - in my case the North Rim of the Grand Canyon - perhaps a sign I take it all too seriously (well, that's what the wife would say!).PS: Managed to fix the Comm 2 radio so you can talk on that one (it was not working). This frees up the COM/NAV1 to display VOR info. Had not found any reference to this little issue on forums. The Aircraft.cfg file had no "Radio" section, and I adssume must default to having just COM1Just added the following to Aircraft.cfg:[Radios]// Radio Type = available, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1 = 1Com.1 = 1, 1Com.2 = 1, 1Nav.1 = 1, 1, 1Nav.2 = 0, 0, 0Adf.1 = 0Transponder.1 = 1Marker.1 = 1 On restarting FS9 COM2 works a treat!Neil.
