The magic bullet

Featured Replies

Dear All,sorry if someone yet knows that, but all simmers should read this thread. http://vistaoz.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4884Take your time: the method is carefully explained but requires a bit of attention.Let me say the tweak explained is the final bullet for my setup!!!I've an ageing rig but not that bad: Athlon 2000+ / 768 MB Ram PC133 / Radeon 9800 Pro / WINXP Pro, al clean and finely tweaked to run FS9 at the best of its possibilities (having spent countless hours searching in the forums). At least I belied. Sure, I've resized cumuls clouds (thanx Chris - invaluable) and (partially) the autogen and the traffic around is around 30%. But all graphics sliders are maxxed out (except water level, shadows and cockpit detail). This being fine for my eyes. With that tweak, now, FS9 is as smooth as silk and the 9800 Pro is smokin'!!!Here are my seetings for, hopefully, other guys benefit:TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120TextureMaxLoad=8Framerate locked at 20NOTE! 'TextureMaxLoad=' is actually a possible (otherwise) hidden entry of fs9.cfg. Default 'invisible' being 3.Thank to the Steve Lacey and the author of the mentioned thread for sharing the method with us. It really makes the difference. My best regards and......always blue sky.Marco (Italy)
