FPS in Demo v FPS in Final Release

Featured Replies

Dear ACES,We've all had the demo on our systems for a couple of weeks now and I'm sure we've all tweaked and re-tweaked to improve FPS and still maximise our favourite new features of FSX. Whether that's new terrain and mesh or AI boats and cars, nice new models and panels or very nice new water effects.Currently I can maintain 15FPS most of the time, with med to med high settings across the board, including still having AI enabled.I tried to attach my settings file but the forum wouldn't let me :(For a similar system with the same settings, would it be possible to approximate what the FPS improvement would be, if all the current fixes were included in the final code?MarkDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/800FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 360GB SATA RAID 0 | 256MB ATI Radeon X850 PE (Catalyst 6.5) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | Saitek X52 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0cMarkDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/800FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 360GB SATA RAID 0 | 256MB ATI Radeon X850 PE (Catalyst 6.5) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | Saitek X52 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0c

There are too many variables that play into FPS to accurately predict what yours will be. Some combinations of settings and hardware will definitely be better. What I can say with confidence is that you will get significantly smoother framerate (far less stutters/jerkyness), and the blurries will be much rarer. The overall experience is certainly much better.

Thanks Brian,That's certainly good news :)MarkDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/800FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 360GB SATA RAID 0 | 256MB ATI Radeon X850 PE (Catalyst 6.5) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | Saitek X52 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0c
