August 13, 200619 yr I never used the map much in FS2004, but I accidentally caught the aircraft symbol in the MAP UI with the left mouse button held down adn lo and behold it movedthe aircraft to the new location :) Sorry if its not a new feature but hey I tought it was coolCheers n beersIan
August 13, 200619 yr No need to apologize, but yes, it's not a new feature at all. ;)Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg
August 13, 200619 yr That is cool. What WAS cool (for myself anyway) was the ability to do that with tower view also (espiecially in replay). Which appears to have not made this new ver. didn't anyone else enjoy full control of tower position and altitude? Sure you can have "flyby" mode selected now, but not the same or better that the previous option. All those "untowered" airports will have no tower view in replay. Please, someone corrrect if i have missed something. Regards,Eric
August 13, 200619 yr > Please, someone corrrect if i have missed something. You have. ;) Now *every* airport in the world has it's own tower camera and the default tower view (Nearest Tower) will automatically choose the tower nearest you. You can also choose a specific nearby tower from the view menu.
August 14, 200619 yr Hi tdragger,Could you please tell me (and how) if it is possible to say... land on some farm land in a crop duster, and move my tower view to just below the tree line i skimmed over to land? I can not figure it out for the life of me. thank you oh yeah, i am enjoying the demo, thanks again. Regards,Eric
August 14, 200619 yr You can't move the tower but you can create a custom camera at any location you want. The SDK will contain all the details.
August 14, 200619 yr Mike, that's a perfect cue for a question I had been meaning to ask. I remember you mentioning custom camera views before, but is it possible to create custom cameras in the demo? Or will we have to wait for the full release? Best regards, Chris
August 14, 200619 yr You could take a look in the FSX aircraft.cfg files, there are camera entries there. Not sure what everything does though."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
August 15, 200619 yr Thanks for the tip! I'll have a play. The Baron's cabin is fully modelled. You can move back, take a seat and look through the side windows. I'll see if I can make a camera entry for that. It looks pretty straight-forward. Best regards, Chris
