Question about sounds

Featured Replies

FS9 was severely lacking when it came to the distance over which sounds carried. Some third-parties tried to fix this by increasing the volume of AI sounds, but obviously this would do absolutely nothing for the actual *distance* over which you could hear a plane. In real life you can easily hear a jet passing over you at an altitude but you wouldn't notice one doing that in FS9.So, my question is: will we be able to hear the sounds of AI and multiplayer aircraft over greater distances in FSX? For example, if I'm sitting at an airport with engines off, will I hear a jet passing over me at 5000 feet? Will wind direction affect the distance over which sound carries? (you can hear a plane further away if you're downwind from it)Will the speed and distance of the plane relative to you affect the distance over which you can hear the plane? (if you're "behind" a jet you can hear it better than if you're ahead of it)
