Hotkeys

Featured Replies

Hi,Is there a way to allocate a hotkey/joystick button to display the radio stack and the GPS? I want a quick way of bringing these up.There doesn't seem to be those choices in the control panel. Thanks for a great forum!Al

Are you talking about FS2004?The current keys are Shift+(1 thru 9) to bring up panels 1 thru 9.They can be remapped on the keyboard or on a joystick button.

But it can be different for each aircraft, so Shift 2 on one plane may be different than Shift 2 on another.I don't think there is a key or direct assignment you can use for the GPS or Radios because they are Windows, and the aircraft designer can make it any window they want. You would have to manually go through each panel.cfg file and make sure it's the same WindowXX for them, and then you can use a Shift 2 (or whatever valule) hotkey.

>>You would have to manually go through each panel.cfg file and>make sure it's the same WindowXX for them, and then you can>use a Shift 2 (or whatever valule) hotkey. That is true. But it is not a very difficult task. A little cut and paste in the cfg file. It would appear to me that that also holds true with making a joystick or keyboard assignment....it applies to all planes.

Yep,not difficult at all, just time consuming. And you have to do a little more than copy/paste, especially if they use different window sizes and window values. You have to be careful to rename the old window value on an existing window to a valid one. So it's not hard, just time and care need to be involved as well.
