My PC does not like FSX (but loves FS9)!

Featured Replies

Last Friday I purchased FSX and installed it on the same hard drive where FS9 resides. FS9 works flawlessly. Average FPS is 35-59 depending of where I fly. I have a ton of addons and fly mostly Carenado planes. Although I enjoy flying the LDS 767 and PMDG 747 from time to time.Unfortunately FSX performance is pathetic. Unusable really. FPS are 5-8. For fun I even decided to put ALL THE SLIDERS TO THE EXTREME LEFT. No change in FPS! That's really strange I thought. But I have no idea of what might be causing this. Especially knowing that FS9 is such a solid performer. My video card is a GeForge FX5900XT, CPU is P4 3.2 and I have 1Gb ram on board. This behaviour of FSX is very puzzling. How can two flight sims on the same system perform so differently?Needless to say I have "shelved" FSX until I find a solution to this problem. Can someone offer an explanation? Or even better, a solution? Many thanks.Gianluca

Please disregard my post. I see that a great number of people are having the same problems. I'll keep reading to forums for answers.Thanks.
