October 10, 200619 yr I recently acquired my version of FSX from a Best Buy near me. At the end of the installation, I get a nasty long 1935 error that has to deal with the Microsoft publicKeyToken key in the registry. I am installing with absolutely no other programs running, no Antivirus, etc. I tried to run the installer through safe mode on my computer but it would not let me. I have also tried another method I found on the net that deals with adding my account to a local user policy in computer management. I tried installing on the administrator account of the computer. Nothing seems to work at all. I even tried to throw it on my second hard drive which is running a recent Vista build. After the error, the game proceeds to uninstall itself. What boggles my mind is that the FSX Demo installed just fine. (I did uninstall it before attempting to load up the full version.) I just want the game to work as right now it is just acting as a paperweight. :(
October 10, 200619 yr You're not alone, Trevor. I can't get my Deluxe version to install. I have the problem of my account having been mucked about by SP2. Used the Recourse Kit (ntrights.exe) to right the wrong, but I get a 1332 error from that. Have been doing research on the problem but so far no go. They've obviously added some copy protection at RTM because I too had no problems with the demo.I'm not inclined to format and try again. Doing so would destroy my well running FS9 as well as other apps I don't want to mess with. And there is no guarantee that a format would resolve the problem. I'll keep trying but plan on heading back to BB soon to see what they'll do with regard to some kind of return.Pity really, as I believe FSX is a good product and I'm willing to work with it to get it running well on my hardware. But like you I'm frustrated just trying to get the bugger installed!Press on,Greg
