Maule Error/Conflict fix

Featured Replies

While trying to figure out another duplicate Maule error on  startup I happened across an old topic here which had no resolution and was wanting to suggest a fix that worked for me in the case it happens to someone else.

I had only been using the Steam version of FSX as I was getting back into flying in the past few days. Last night I decided to install some of my old payware planes that I wanted to fly again. After installing about 5 of them I started getting the Maule duplicate name error. After reading the unresolved topic here on these forums attached below, the last commenter gave me an idea on what to search for. As the error didn't pop up until after installing the payware planes, it was simply a process of elimination to find the problem.

It turns out, the Just Flight DC-3 Legends of Flight package I bought in the last few years was the culprit. In particular, and it makes so much sense now, the C-47 Glider Tug aircraft. Sure enough, I looked at the aircraft.cfg for it and it listed it's title= name as "Maule M7 260C" causing a duplicate name and conflict with the default Maule M7 260C that comes with the game. I suppose I'll let Just Flight know about this in case they might not be aware. I had kept a copy of the download from when I first purchased and so my apologies if JF has already fixed this and the community is aware of it.

Thanks!
