ortho4xp boundry between land and water

Featured Replies

Hi,

Sometimes I fly at low altitudes hugging the terrain. For this I prefer the flattened photoreal scenery to the fake artificially generated scenery so I have been using ortho4xp.

However I am getting an unattractive boundary between water and land (see photo) in the resulting simulations and I don't know where it is coming from.

Can anyone tell me if there is an option in ortho4xp or in x-plane that will eliminate this? I am not using the overlay generated by ortho4xp.

My graphics settings are: visual effects = high, texture quality = maximum , use Vsync is checked. Everything else is minimal or unchecked.

Any suggestions on different settings in ortho4xp or x-plane to eliminate the water - land boundary would be appreciated.

Other questions I have which I might as well also ask now:

Are there better options for low level scenery? I like the scenery in google earth flight simulator but it doesn't have the same level of features as x-plane.

Can anyone explain what the overlay generated by ortho4xp is for?

Thanks in advance.
