October 16, 200619 yr Hi,I have been a FS fan for years, but I have always been a little dissapointed that after a flight on a state-of-the-art simulated aircraft, like a PMDG one (some 737 models excepted,) my virtualpassengers leave the doors smiling and waving - only to fall 20ft face-first onto the tarmac!!!With the advent of baggage loading animations, and moving jetways, it must be a simple step to make an animated airstair vehicle (or whatever their real name is!)Please let me know if this is possible, and if a talented member of our community can do this?Rob
October 16, 200619 yr I suppose virtual people might be possible in a later version, but that's not what I was implying.I'm sure I have seen some great looking stair-vehicles in addon scenery, there must be an easy way to animate them, using the SDK or something!
October 16, 200619 yr now that would definatly be a blast to see, i have not yet see any of the luggage being moved from the plane, the baggage car pulled up and connected but never seen anything come out, if it even does.
October 16, 200619 yr No, the baggage convayer-belt vehicle docks with the aircraft, but nothing is animated moving on, or off. Then the baggage cart pulls up along-side.As far as I can tell, they line-up to a XYZ in the config file, and there IS an entry about exit types... 0, 1 and 2
October 17, 200619 yr If, through the SDK, (which I don't have access to yet) people could make custom moving jetways, then I think it should also be able to make moving airstair vehicles for airports (or for gates) that don't have jetways. (They would likely appear to FSX as a jetway.) And jetway/cargo dock point info can be added to older aircraft using the aircraft.cfg file. Here's an example of an exit from the FSX Demo 1 CRJ:exit.0 = 0.4, -16.90, -4.5, 3.9, 0 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)The second, third, and fourth numbers there indicate where the exit is relative (I assume) to the aircraft's reference point. The type would be used to indicate what should dock with that exit, if anything. (No idea if emergency exits can be docked with anything or not, but I can imagine that being used by creative modellers to create emergency slides or something.)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
