FSX Problem on my Dell XPS/Gen 4

I have a standard Dell XPS/Gen 4 system and my FSX Deluxe crashes to the toolbar along the bottom when I end a flight. Esc doesnt work, and I end the flight from the File dialog.Then, it sits there, and the theme music starts to come thru in short bursts every couple of seconds. I have no real control of the mouse, which only works in small bursts as well. This is a major annoyance since it takes forever (it seems) to get the system to respond. This is a 5 minute problem to extricate from each time because you have to guess how far to roll the mouse so that you can get it to stop over a click point.
