Well first may i say what agreat comunity you have here, i have been reading this forum for a long time and gleened a lot of usefull info from here.Now FSXI have read and tried all of the 'tweaks' on here and come to the following conclusion.The shaders tweak: Sorry but very silly tweak imo, its a state of the art game that should be able to take advantage of state of the art shaders, i would have expected shader 3 to be the optional one.The defaults.xml tweak: Sorry but again i see this as completely pointless (for me anyway) it just removed all the nice trees for my local airport, i may as well have set no autogen.The terrain in cfg tweak: OK produced a sort of flyable sim with some autogen.Sorry i tried the reduced tree texture tweak but basically i got a few black cones at my airport and no improvement in frame rate.Ok, a couple of things i have noticed and have already been pointed out on here, but just to clarify: Setting water to either setting that gives you reflections kills things stone dead and flying over cities at any altitude kills things stone dead, i adjusted the scenery don to zero and it made no difference ie lots of buildings or no buidings i still get a mega framerate drop over cities and yes i've tried the traffic settings and these make no difference either.Also the light brown textures for autumn in the uk dont look much like the bright green fields i see when i drive to work.But i do like fsx for some reason, i like the new plane geometry, the light bloom, the land and sea traffic and most of the cockpits.I fly a loy of addons in fsn (mesh,GE,PMDG747,lvld,a36etc) and get a good 25 to 30 fps all the time, the fsx thing just doesnt make sense, if tdragger is reading this, please get the fps and terrain sorted for us because fsx will then become a classic. As for the add on suppliers, i expect them to take the framerate even lower.By the way my machine:4800x2 2gig ram x1900xt radeon, if things stay the way they are, im going to need to double the cpu core speed to get a decent framerate over cities.Oh, one more thing i've flown a couple of flights in the default 737 from the uk to the southern med and saved the flight near the end, however i then cant load the flight up again, i get some memory at location blah blah error and the whole thing crashes out.Sorry for the long first post but im primarily hoping tdragger reads this at some point edit: oh yes and how come i get the same fps in windowed mode as in full screen and yet in window mode my graphics card is cuising at low temps, yet ain full screen its working like mad, very odd.
