October 21, 200619 yr After playing around with the default planes in FSX I've come to realize that there are some definite shortcomings and even a few curious bugs in the VC view setups. Some planes have views for switches and co-pilot seats, some don't. In some views the controls are not accessible because the camera is stuck inside the plane's model. One plane, the Mooney, even had duplicate GUIDs which completely borked the VC views and the views had also been hidden from cycling (with the A key). All minor aspects of a major product that couldn't quite be polished in time for the release.I've been editing the VC views of all FSX's default planes (except the glider and Extra) to remedy these problems and thought I'd share the upgrades with others. It'd be great if someone else found these beneficial, too.I haven't uploaded it to AVSim yet, so for now you can get the ZIP file with CFGs and instructions from here:http://www.puonti.net/stuff/FSX%20VC%20Vie...Enhancement.zipFeedback is welcome, but do realize that these were originally made for my personal use and they serve that purpose well - others might have different tastes when it comes to camera angles and whatnot.
October 21, 200619 yr I do all my flying in the VC, and found the same problems! So, thanks! You did all the hard work for me! :D
October 22, 200619 yr No problem :) Glad to hear someone found them useful. Did you encounter any new issues with the modified views? Is the new camera cycle order more logical in your opinion than the default one?
October 22, 200619 yr On a related note it seems that I've found a problem with FSX that relates to these views. For some reason FSX is messing up the views I've set up. Yesterday I had everything working alright, but today when I load up the planes some of the views have "moved" so that when before you had all controls in sight, now some of them are outside of the view. Some views have also changed from "none" pan mode to "swivel". I'm positive I did not change them, so FSX must have either arbitrarely changed them itself OR it's loading old copies of the config files from *somewhere*. I have no idea where.Has anyone else experimented with FSX's camera system and noticed any other odd problems like these? Ever found yourself thinking "That's strange, I could have sworn I fixed that problem earlier"?
