A321 Airbus

Featured Replies

Has anyone explored the FSX A321 Airbus, yet? I have been checking it out and, for the most part, it is a neat jet to fly. I have found two glaring problems with it, however, and they both are related to instrumentation.1. The Airspeed Control in the AutopilotDuring climb you want to switch from IAS Hold to MACH Hold. The problem is, it doesn't do that. As you climb holding MACH instead of IAS, your IAS decreases in the real world (and FS9). However in this jet the engine power continues to increase as the Autopilot attempts to recover the IAS you are losing. The work around is that you must continually decrease the MACH value you have dialed into the Autopilot--a real annoyance. It seems to hold the MACH number in level flight, but obviously, this is not the coreect function of this Autopilot.2. The relative Wind direction arrow in the gauge is reversed! The digital readout for wind direction is okay, but if you want to know whether you have a head wind or a tail wind you must do some number crunching. You can also compare you TAS with the GS values. If the TAS is greater than the GS, you have a head wind component, just how much you will never know (unless you cheat and install the Rel_Wind gauge somewhere on your panel). But the jet flies beautifully and handles great even on visual approaches.Has anyone else noticed these two flaws? As far as I have seen, the Boeing 737-800 instrumentation works okay. I will do more testing on that plane. Thanks,Tim

Ditto to all that.Aircraft views over wing is superb. I recently had window seat of 321 real world Barcelona-Gatwick.It always amazes me how little 'wing' is left on full flaps and airbrakes!! FSFX gets it bang on!All we need is the creeching cat startup sounds from self starter!I have always been a 737 sim flyer, but am really enjoying the 321, nice to be off the rails with good, sick bag, turbulance being 'felt'!regards,
