October 28, 200619 yr If anyone could help with these little annoyances I would appreciate it.1. When I start a flight (free flight mode) it always starts with the park brake off. Am I doing/setting something wrong or is this permanent? It just bugs me as I like me a/c to be static when I start.2. When I change view mode or zoom, a little message appears at the top right of the screen in red. Now that I don't mind, but it stays for about 20seconds which is really unecessary, especially as I like to take lots of screenshots zooming in and out but have to wait for the message to disappear.I am willing to change any files (i.e. fsx.cfg) if need be.
October 28, 200619 yr The issue with the parking brake has been raised a short time ago, I am sure someone will help you there. As for number two I was considering posting the same question, that thing really annoys me.Andrew Brown
October 28, 200619 yr hi1st you could save your own start file with the Parking brake On,with your favourite aircraft ,weather and so on.2nd that little sign in the top right is your Zoom settings, there was a file uploded the other day which disables the RED signs, not sure if it does that particular on tho.it did disable the Parking and Differential Brake signs. best wishes steve
October 28, 200619 yr The parking brake is not set because the default FSX startup situation is in flight, while in fs2004 you start on the ground. That's the difference. I know, this is not going to help you, it's only an explanation. Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
October 28, 200619 yr Ok i have figured both out.1. To set the park brake always on at startup change the following in the FLTSIM.FLT file located at "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XFlightsother" (where C: is the hard drive FSX is installed on);{CONTROL.0}ParkingBrake=000.00 to ParkingBrake=100.002. To get rid of the zoom and view message, change the following in the FSX.CFG file located at "C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftFSX";{DISPLAY}ChangeTime=4.000000 to ChangeTime=0.000000You can also change the colour of the text under {DISPLAY}InfoUpperRightTextColor=255,255,255
