Could someone else please try and fly out of Ellington Field in Houston, TX? I thought I had FSX tweaked perfectly as I was getting ~20 fps everywhere I went, but when I went here to do a pseudo airshow, my sim ground to a halt. Is there something about this area that just kills the framerate? Seriously, does anyone know what the deal with this area is, or am I the only one having this issue...

Took off and entered the pattern, 2 touch and goes and full stop.I see no problems on my rig and the area is actually pretty fast compared to others.Running ActiveSky,Mytraffic X, most settings towards the high end except autogen&scenery at med.All of Matts textures mods.Amd FX-62,Asus M2N32 Deluxe,7900GTX,2 gigs Kingston HyperX, Raptor 150. SYS tweeked and Oced.With the above I was getting high 20s up to mid 30s in the vr cockpit. 40+ external view.With so many variables everyone will have different results BUT NO,I did not have any lockups,stutters or unusually low fps in that area. Hope this helps....

JIMJAM,Could you please post a screenshot of you flying in the area with the fps guage? I do experience the same problem as the person above. I experience it at ALL large airports where there are all kinds of vehicles, etc.I'm sorry, I just noticed that you use a texture mod. So, you're not using the default FS X files.Thanks!

Ive never posted any screenshots but will look into it.Yes, I am using all of the available texture reductions,trees,autogen,building ect that are available.And NO, fps ranges in the mid 20s and higher are not all the time,everywhere.Even on my fast rig,KLAX,KATL,KSFO ect put a hurting on it and Ive dipped down into the teens.I also tried a x6800 intel duo and the overall perfromance was the same as the amd fx-62 Im running now.Still I noticed nothing unusual in the area and at the airport in question.

Thanks for the reply guys, I might just uninstall and start from scratch. I have applied almost all available tweaks and might have messed something up. I don't think I reduced the building textures though, or did the default.xml fix so that may have something to do with it. I'll let you guys know the results tonight. Thanks again.P.S. - Has anyone else noticed that the Extra kind of spins unrealistically?

OK! Re-installed from scratch, no tweaks really, just fiber frame and zero auto-gen and it works fine. I guess auto-gen will have to wait until my next computer, but I really don't mind that much since I am usually flying routes above the altitude where you can see it. Thanks for your input guys. Happy flying!P.S. - I now get a solid locked 25 fps. in this area. I even get ~15 fps at KSEA in the heavies VC.
